Aad, Yes I use the ribbon all the time as I am used to it. I could not find Webify under the menu system or the Project pane as the help describes. I would be interested to hear of your/anyone's experience with this feature. Cheersby JP - WinDev Forum
If you are using the ribbon: 1) Click the Project tab 2) There is a "Webify" dropdown button just after Audit and Performance group of buttons/dropdowns.by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All I have a charting problem on a WebDev 23 and 24 dynamic site. The page contains a line chart. I want to allow the user to either draw 100 points or 500 points using a radio button. If I set this radio button to Ajax mode (which I want so that only the chart will be refreshed) then the following occurs 1) Initially the chart has 100 points 2) user then changes to 500 points Theby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi What do you mean "maps" ? Thanks!by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All I just installed WebDev 24. When I now try and run a WebDev 23 project it says the wrong version of the launcher is installed. It offers to correct that but then, of course, running a WebDev 24 project will have an issue and want to correct it again. What is the recommended way to be able to have both 23 and 24 projects and be able to switch between them for testing on a single compby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All Is it possible to create an image variable, draw a pie chart on it, and then save the image to disk? I know the first and last parts can be done so the question is can one create a pie chart and draw it on an image variable all in code only? - I have found an easier solution. Hi All Does anyone know if there is a way to create an animated GIF image with WinDev or with a 3rd party tool that one can automate with WinDev ? Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
Infos, So I solved this by not letting the user load the relevant URL by clicking the row in the table. Instead I added a button which has server code to load the URL contained in the row selected. It is more cumbersome because a user must now do 2 things; select a row and then click a button ... but it works so there's that. Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi Infos, This doesn't work because: 1) I can only access the table columns in server code, not browser code. So only in server code can I know the URL associated with the row clicked on in the table. 2) ShellExecute() in server code would (in theory) execute on the server but is stopped by WebDev anyway. Surely there is a way for the browser code to know the contents of the tablby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All This is on a WB23 Dynamic Website I have struggled with this issue for some time so perhaps someone can direct me. I have a table on a page. It contains some webpage article titles. The table has a hidden column containing the URL of the article title. I want to allow the user to click the article in the table and then load the related URL in a new browser tab. Hello Pao and Andre Thanks for the suggestions. I have checked the permissions on the 4 sites in the registry and they are all the same. It seems there is a problem locking the site and then a subsequent problem to write into the registry. I assume the 2nd issues stems from the 1st. Here attached is the on-screen log. Any suggestions?by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi André Not sure its a permissions error but agree it sounds like it. I have 4 sites on this server; they were all working perfecty and could be updated without issue for many months. I tried to update this one site and something went wrong which I cannot remember but now it will not update anymore. All 4 sites still work fine and 3 sites can continue to be updated properly but just this 1 siby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All I have a WB23 website. it is a dynamic site. It has been working for 6+ months. I have been able to upload new versions without issue. All fine. Today I try to upload a minor change and the upload process goes through all the motions transferring the update package etc. and right at the end it says: Error writing into the registry Contact the server administrator Any clue why thby JP - WinDev Forum
DW Perhaps you can run it through a first pass inside an When Exception construct and if the exception triggers only then look for the offending space. This will save since as you say this has been fine for a year so it is the exception and not the rule. JPby JP - WinDev Forum
Piet So funny, after having built and released 7+ WB websites I never saw that option! Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees - lolby JP - WinDev Forum
For Windows+IIS just put the favicon.ico file in the "www" folder of the website (this is the starting folder for the website).by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All What is the best recommendations regarding password storage? I want to hash the password and store only the hash. Is this the recommended best option? Does the field which will store the hash need to be set in any specific way, extra size, etc.? I suppose the best option is to hash the password and then use Encode() with Base64 and store that result in a text field ... ?by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi Yogi I can apply the theme and the contents of the window changes as expected. But the Min, Max, and Close buttons on the window title do not change. They stay as per default Windows icons and the window border is also the standard Windows border. The window border and icons do not look like they do inside WinDev when in design mode ...by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All Should be a simple question When I am in window design mode it looks like this image 1. But when I run the window test it looks like image 2. Why? And how can I force it to look like image 1 when I run it? i.e. I want the white title bar and the same min, max, and close icons as in design mode. Thanks!by JP - WinDev Forum
- Sorry, I see that WD added quotes which I could remove to resolve the issue. Hi All I'm trying to build a multi-lingual application and would appreciate any tips and suggestions. I have an issue with passing a string to a message window I have designed. If I just pass an English message to my message window then the window receives the string and displays it - all good. Hi All Looking for some suggestions and opinions: We need to develop a new project. The project/application will have quite a complex user interface. The best way to describe it briefly would be: Users must be able to create "documents" which will have a "spreadsheet" type layout to them. They are not actually XLS files but will look similar to that i.e have rows andby JP - WinDev Forum
Frans First, what version of Windows are you talking about? Second, why not roll back the Windows update by uninstalling the latest updates and see if you can fix it that way? JPby JP - WinDev Forum
@DennisW This a neat solution! but I dont think it covers one situation we face which is that a user can open up charts and reports in our app and just monitor them without interacting with our app. They are just watching live charts and reports. Which means they might not click in our app or use the keyboard in our app. So I would add the mouse X,Y position test to see if the user has moved tby JP - WinDev Forum
DW In Visual FoxPro there was a function called LastKey() which I could use to determine whatever the last key the user pressed was. In WinDev there does not seem to be the equivalent function but I'm sure the VFP function just calls a Windows API. I shall try and find more info on the API and let you know. JPby JP - WinDev Forum
Aad, We force users out of our systems at 2am for various maintenance routines we want to run. We do this using a timer that runs in its own thread. It uses the WD automatic timer function which we setup on application start and checks every 10 minutes. It actually checks for 2 things; the time being 2am and also for a special file which I can manually create to force users to logoff on-demandby JP - WinDev Forum
Peter Get CertifyTheWeb from The program will create and install a free certificate from LetsEncrypt.org for one or more websites on your Windows server. All automated and easy and works with WebDev.
