Hi All I need to test the name of a worksheet tab in an Excel file. I use XLSOpen() to open the file and the help says I can use "LeafName" on an xlsDocument variable but I cant make it work. If I use myXlsDocumentVariable..LeafName the syntax checker says the double dot is not recognized. If I use myXlsDocumentVariable.LeafName the syntax checker is OK but it fails during runtby JP - WinDev Forum
Aad, If the emails are being rejected or quarantined by DMARC policy then the receiving server is not able to verify that the sending server is actually the valid sender's server. DMARC allows a receiving server to verify that the sending server is actually owned by the sending domain. Now it depends on what the domain owner has set their DMARC policy to. This can be (1) nothing, info onlby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All I am having a problem uploading my site to my server due to bandwidth connectivity issues - i.e. not related to WebDev. Darren, How about using PDFExtractPage() to extract a copy of a page as an image variable and saving that to an image file and then pointing to that image file in the control? JPby JP - WinDev Forum
Niek DateSys() on its own will just execute that function but return nothing. In order to return something you would have to do something like: 1) Create a global variable e.g. MyVarDate is date 2) Then in your test code you would write: MyVarDate = DateSys() 3) Then execute that code retrieve the value from the global variable MyVarDate In other words, the code you Execute() needsby JP - WinDev Forum

Yes I know this setting BUT I'm not changing this option from compile to compile (and not including the DLL in the EXE either). Nothing changes except what I said; I added a comment line and minor change to a FOR NEXT statement. Sometimes the EXE compiles larger, sometime smaller, and without changing the project options between compiles.by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All Noticed a funny thing. I have a little project, nothing special or large. Sometimes I create the EXE and it is +/-900Kb and sometimes +/-3000Kb. For example, yesterday I compiled the EXE and it was 900Kb. This morning I added a comment line and a extremely minor change to a single line of code. Recompile and ... 3000Kb. Tomorrow or another day it will go back to 900Kb. Any ideas about tby JP - WinDev Forum

Erik, I think the project is trying to create a file but it does not know the name correctly and hence replaces that with "> directory with <> prefix". So I think there is a file corrupted or has an erroneous name or something like that maybe ?by JP - WinDev Forum
Erik, Does it literally say: <C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Local\Temp\> directory with <> prefix If yes then the problem would seem to be WD is trying to create a file called "> directory with <> prefix" which it cannot do since ">" and "<" and illegal file/folder name characters.by JP - WinDev Forum

Hi All My app creates via printing commands a PDF file. I want the PDF file to be protected against modification but otherwise allow viewing, printing, etc. Just no modify. Is there a way to do this without requiring the user to enter a password to open the PDF file? I know about the PDFPassword() function but this would require a password each time the document is opened. I want to allow anyoby JP - WinDev Forum

Hi All Having a slow thinking day ... I have a table control linked to a file. I have a button which can switch on/off a checkbox/boolean field in the file. But my table control does not reflect this change in the file. Only the records which are not visible on the screen show the change as I scroll to make them visible. Obviously I am missing some sort of "refresh the displayed recorby JP - WinDev Forum

Piet Not sure about AWP - does it require the WebDev Admin Server? What is the difference between AWP and Dynamic? In any case, a static page would seem to work fine - my back-end script will get the 2 fields I need and process something. The site does not require very much and Static site seems like a really simple solution in this case. Background: we have a site currently that we wanby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi Piet So I want to create a login form (static page with a Submit button). So the page will have a username and password text boxes. The submit button will call a script of mine which will retrieve the username/password. But I would prefer my script could retrieve the page fields using meaningful IDs like "username" and "password" rather than "A10" and "A11by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi I have created a static webpage. It contains a text box and a submit button. WebDev generates the HTML and gives this text box in the HTML a random ID of "A11" (in this case). Is there a way to manually choose this ID for the control? Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi Piet Yup, was easier than I was expecting. I was thinking it needed a more complex setting up than it actually was. Simply as anything. Thanks!by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All In my previously developed websites I have created dynamic websites and the WebDev Admin Server to run them. I use WebDev to upload the site to the server. All OK. Now, I have an old website in asp which I want to replace with a new one in WebDev which is a static site. According to the help no WebDev Admin Server is required to run a static site. So my question; how do I upload tby JP - WinDev Forum
Thanks Michael, will look at that. Also, I guess one could create several different reports, print each to its own PDF file, and then use PDFMerge() to combine the individual report PDF files into a final PDF file? - Sequencing reports is even better Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
Michael and All, I have a question; the report I want to create will contain a fixed number of pages, say 3. Each page will have different content, a few charts, a table, some text. I would like each page to have its own header and footer but, obviously, each page has a different body. I cannot see how to do that? Any suggestions? TIAby JP - WinDev Forum

Hi All I want to create a PDF file which will contain some text, some tables, some pie charts, etc. in some layout of my design. What would be the best way to create such a PDF file? Thanks!by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All I am using the PDF control on a window and populating it by setting it to directly use a PDF stored in a memo field. Works great. My question is: how to allow the user to save the PDF file? I can switch on the "Open" button under the control's properties dialog (which I do not want) but I do not get a Save As button. Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
Garry Thanks. Have applied this suggestion. Cheersby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All Is there any easy way to tell WD24 to just automatically update any existing file which has a different structure than in the analysis? I know about HModifyStructure() which I use for specific files but for one application I dont want to write specific code and would be happy if the WD24 application just handles it automatically without any interruption.
