WebDev = Multiple versions
April 19, 2019 11:52AM
Hi All

I just installed WebDev 24. When I now try and run a WebDev 23 project it says the wrong version of the launcher is installed. It offers to correct that but then, of course, running a WebDev 24 project will have an issue and want to correct it again.

What is the recommended way to be able to have both 23 and 24 projects and be able to switch between them for testing on a single computer?

Thanks

Hello,

Simply make 2 maps.

One for the 23 version Mysites23 and one for the 24 version.

JP

Separate the installations into separate folders and also the place where your apps are located

Hi JP,

AFAIK, there's no escape from that.
Webdev has to reconfigure IIS (or any other webserver) for the current version of the Webdev engine.
If IIS is configured for the most recent version of Webdev than you can ignore the warning, your test will run anyway, because the Webdev engine supports previous versions.

Piet
