Hi Al, sounds tricky to me .. did you try to use a camera control in your WD-program? This would - very theoretically - result in an image on an image control. And you could store the image in HFSQL.by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, no, it's just a typo, should read YYYYMMDD Date arithmetics is not anymore what it used to be. Worked fine for many years, but WithIn a procedure: Procedure(PxInputDate is string, PxOutputDate is string, PxDays is 4-byte int ...) MyInputDate is Date = StringToDate(PxInputDate,"YYYYMMDD") <= works MyOutputdate is Date = IntegerToDate( (DateToInteger(MyInputDate)by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, not long ago, one could handle dates like strings and strings like dates - as long as their internal builds were like YYYYMMDD Now, they do not accept a string as a date and they don't accept a date as a string. Lots of errors, lots of work ... ----------------- Info: My Error: DateToInteger(..) has been fed with an empty date which causes an error now, but did not so befoby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Al, thank you! There's no word about the latest funnies in the Windows Editor, I'm still hoping they included a fix for the edit controls in numeric format! The update *seems* to deal with SCM mainly and fixes some urgent malfunctions of the dockable panes. If somebody would ask me, which certainly will not be the case, then I'd recommend to make the *dream* of being &qby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Al, Tables are affected too!! Original mask in a v23 table was 999999999 in order to show an invoice number which can be 9 digits long. They changed it without asking to 9,999,999,999 which displays some funny invoice numbers now. We still did not look into how these forced conversions affect calculation results. That's still unknown territory ..by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, moving projects from v23 to v24 impacts the edit control with numeric input format too!!! 1 - all edit control with input mask 9,99 has been forcefully changed to "high-precision numeric". In an example case the format has been +9,99 - it changed input to high-precision numeric but does not check the check box, it says it has one digit and two decimal places, which is correct,by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, yes, metoo one program had 100 to 200 places of date display / date input to change. I wouldn't have known what else to do with all my free time.by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Ruben, just to mention: there are some good reasons for storing images & PDFs in a database. 1 - in a multiuser environment all users have direct access to the images / documents. No local storages required. For multiuser environment one would have to provide access to a web site by using a link. Things do change fast .. is the link still valid? Are images / documents still there?by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, HReset() resets all of data items of a file buffer to the values you had defined as default values in the analysis. There's no need to use HReset(..) if you're setting the data items of the file anyway. Are there really only two data items in the file? The FOR ALL ROWS may disturb the progress of the file pointer ... is this a memory table or a datafile table? If this is table coby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, do we have to buy Dragon Naturally Speaking though there is a speech recognition built-in in Windows 10?by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, the "internal HF dll error 72326" happens if you don't have a HyperFile context for a thread or another piece of code.by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, you can use 32-bit WINDEV to make a 64-bit .exe file, no problem. I have two "configurations" for each program I make - a 32-bit one and a 64-bit one. Since I'm using RAD11 all the time I did install 32-bit WINDEVs only on my PC, most time of the year I don't care for the 64-bit version.by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, cutting an existing program into pieces may be a good idea but will be real hard work. External Components are like DLLs, nobody can see their source code as long as you do not release it. The downside is that many parts of a program need to access data files. It very complicated to switch between several analysis-es (open / close /open ..) and there may be unexpected traps to be found inby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, my impression is that v23 is a bit faster than 22. Maybe, your remote desktop software has been updated and is slower than before?by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Al, in reality there may be about a tenth of that number - per day! However, that's an impressive workload - handled for free. I do understand that many requests do not get as much attention as the questioners expect.by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Al, please tell our friends in Montpellier about this fact! Let's see what they're going to do about that ....by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi, isn't the PDF-document istself the "database" for storing the annotations? Or are there several PDF-Documents forming the plan to be commented?? If so: maybe, it's easier to show the document with its version number in a PDF-viewer on the left of the window and open a simple multiline edit control together with user name etc. on the right? The document could be storby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Michael, have the annotations to be on certain / defined places on the document? a) A PDF can be shown in an image control. There are the d-functions to e.g. write on the .PDF. Unfortunately, the result is an image and not a PDF anymore. b) The logical way would be to export the document into Word / RTF Text, then add the annotations and after that re-export the document into PDF foby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Steven, I did not look into the framework of WM and WB. If those dlls really are of same size and version - not only of same name - then it shouldn't be wrong to test them there.by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Steven, files are starting with "WD240" = WINDEV 24.0by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, the "missing links" have been fixed, as I remember with v21, I did extensive tests then and they showed that HModifyStructure(..) was working fine indeed and therefore is reliable to use. I hope, nothing has been changed meanwhile! If you're happy with .REP file management, it's just fine. I can remember that the .REP file treatment gave me some nightmares a fewby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Robin, this is a GPF - a General Protection Fault. This means that the application accessed an address outside of the address space reserved for your application. If your application is made of WINDEV functions only then only PC Soft will be able to explain the cause of the problem. If you want a hint then you should release the code of selecting a row of Table "CBO_Crew" and wby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, this is my way to keep HFSQL database structures in sync with the analysis: 1 - Do not use REP-file management! Add to your Project code: HSetREP(False) info: keeping several projects with similar databases on the same hard disk will end up in disaster - if .REP management finds the "other" databases! 2 - Use HModifyStructure(...) at a convenient place in project cby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Peter, thanks, that's a good suggestion! From time to time I do receive PDF's which can be read / printed only using the Adobe Acrobat reader.by gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, each update and version of WINDEV had changes to the "printing to PDF" thing - without exception. Some to the better and some to the worse. My many-years-old problem is still unsolved. Whine. If the print format changes from portrait to landscape and then back to portrait, the landscape sheet will print to the margins of a portrait page only. Intermediate solution: just prinby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi infos, don't do that! I recommend to put your images into a HFSQL C/S-file instead, as a "sound, image, binary" item of that file. If you put your HFSQL-files to a server at your provider's location somewhere in the U.S., just as an example, what would you do? I'm using a HFSQL file for managing PDF documents and I'm quite happy with that because data backup isby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hello, that irritates me too. The more or less automatically available configurations of 32-bit/64-bit for the same project have been omitted, now you have the "configuration management" and there you have to set that version (32-bit / 64-bit) that is the version which you're using currently - and compiling to. The procedure is: 1 - See / Define your configurations in winby gpredl - WinDev Forum
Hi Patrick, imho, there's no property for "Automatic End of Input" and no way to switch it directly. Maybe, there is an event appearing whenever the "Auto End of Input" takes place and you could move focus back to that edit control?by gpredl - WinDev Forum
