Hello Andre The first thing I would check is that the text control is ticked as "AutomaticErase" If it is and it is not working on the ReturnToCapture() then maybe the ..AutomaticErase could be used to set the mode on the control before the ReturnToCapture() command is issued Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Aad That's good to know. 99% of my tables are memory tables so after they are filled I sort - if required - find a record if required using tableseek() and then issue a tableselectplus() command to either the first row or the found row number. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Aad Tableselectplus(tablename,1) should do that Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Pauly You mention that you are adding integers to the field but the field seems like it is configured as text for it to sort as you display. If the field is configured as numeric, it must sort correctly as 1,2,10,11,21 If it is text then could consider Guenter's suggestion to pad it with spaces on the left side Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Add Make sure the table is a memory table and then you can set the sort order options for a column. At the bottom of the General tab for each column, there is a "Sortable" tick box. To the right of that is an "Options" button that allows you to customize the sort. When you tick that option, the defaults will apply and they will actually do what you are asking forby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Reg There may be a Windev function that can do that, but for me it is an application design function. I have CtrlInit() and CtrlExit() functions that are run in the Initialization and Exit code of almost every control so while I have no need to collect the data that you require, I could do it by adding the functionality to just those two procedures. You could add this type of funby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello According to the help: The password of data files By default, the data files found in the user groupware have a specific password. This password is: "PCSGPW2001". To change this password, type the new password in the "Files" tab of the description window of user groupware. The characters typed are displayed as stars. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Guenter Thanks for the idea, the Winaero Tweaker has some quite good tools but I have gone around the problem and found a Windev solution Windev has a scrollbar width option for tables, so I changed the content of the combo box to be a table, added a manual ..LineHeight to get the table rows to handle the font size of 18 and it works fine using fingers on a touch screen. Hello All I am trying to create some windows for a Windows touch screen application. To make it easier for the users to operate, I am making the controls bigger and it is going well except for combo boxes, I can't find a way to make the Scrollbar button bigger or how to make the scrollbar itself wider. I have searched through the help on styles but nothing seems to mention this aspectby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Aad There is a WD Magnifier example that may give you some ideas Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello All Is there any way to change the password on a file other than doing a fake modification in the analysis and the running WDModfic on the file Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello All The BankHolidayAdd() function has quite odd syntax. For a date that occurs every year on a specific month day (not a date) the help has the following example A date in the following format: <Month>_<Week Number>_<Day Number in the Week>. For example: 11_2_3 for the 2nd Wednesday of November. What is doesn't say is that the month value has to have aby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello All The second scheduler example had the answers. Scheduler.InfoXY() will return the data from a cell Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello All I am trying to make sense of the Scheduler control without much luck as it appears that there are no usable row, column or cell properties available. The example creates a new task by clicking on a new task button. The screen that pops up is dumb and wants the user to input everything. My programming style would get the user to double click on a cell in the schedule and the newby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Guenter What a simple solution. Thank you Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello All An edit control has an option to "Display and enable links" which allows the user to double click on a link in the text of the control and the link (URL Document etc ) will automatically open. The option is not available in the table control but I am wondering if the is a ".." function that will enable the option in a table text control ? Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Ola Take heart. My main app is also running in HF Classic. The database is normalized to the second level and in some cases to the third level so the keys are absolutely critical. I only use the Auto Id to maintain all the primary keys. Yes I have had the issue you mentioned but probably about 10 times since I started with Windev at V5.5 I am convinced the problem is not a PCSoby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello All I am trying to create a table using ControlCreate() It works ok and I can set most of the column attributes that I need except for TotalsEnabled I have tried Indirection and referencing the column but no luck with either. This is the code: Col4 is Control <- ControlCreate("drl_table.Col4",typColumn) Col4..Width = 100 Col4..Caption = "Money" Col4..Iby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Jim I maintain a second user list in my software. When the user logged in and the groupware analysis was opened, I would collect the groupware info into global memory variables and then update my user file. A few months ago I finally took Guenter's advice and ditched the Windev groupware and it was the best thing I ever did. It was quite simple as I was using the GPW not the Gby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello All I have a problem with updating records in MS SQL from HF Classic files. My client has 9 different companies, all completely separate from each other in separate directories, but on the same server. Each company has exactly the same database and Windev exe. A change log is maintained for each company to log the primary key of every HF record that has an add, delete or modify duriby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Darren I only have one example for the tokens "Using a "Text Token" edit control in Windev If you enable the Unit examples pane, a search for "token" should find it. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Darren To be honest, I couldn't see any use for them so I didn't bother going any further. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Steven Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't see how the AAF has any influence when the root cause is PCSoft screwing the masks on the date fields and changing them to French notation. I believe I have a way of addressing the issue and to be honest I am not game to try anything else in case it makes it worse. My current approach is whenever I open a window, I search forby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello I found a simpler way to fix the problem in tables. Change the date fields to text, save and close the window holding the table then re-open and change the table fields back to date. In my case I then set both the input and display masks as DD/MM/YYYY and the returned value as YYYYMMDDD and that works. This problem is like a ticking bomb, I don't know whether to take a chanceby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello DW Your observation about opening the description is interesting. It could mean that I could run a global replace on the "JJ/MM/AAAA" and replace them with "DD/MM/YYYY" and the problem might fix itself because I haven't opened up the control. I will try it on a copy of my app over the weekend. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello PCSoft completely screwed up in this version with the date masks ! I edited a couple of tables with data columns that were invisible. Circumstances have changed and I made them visible. The data masks - courtesy of PCSoft V24 - were set to "JJ/MM/AAAA" When the columns display now they show "20/90/_____" Changing the mask to DD/MM/YYYY doesn't fix the probby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Yogi I think you will need to recompile it with V24 as a 64 bit app Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Garry The best place to look is the geoPosition variable It has a breakdown of all the gps attributes that are available to you in Windev and their data types In that variable the latitude and longitude are reals. I would set up a separate GPS data file with all the attributes in the geoposition variable and a 2 part foreign key link back to the file that needs a gps record. Thiby Al - WinDev Forum
