Hello Raul HF Classic is just fine on Win7. I have a couple of clients using HF Classic, running Win7 and Win10 clients going back to a Win7 "Server". It probably shouldn't work but it does. The first thing I would check is that you have enabled "Multi-users" in the Management mode section of the "Files" section in the project description. The onlyby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Noel There is some some information under "Regular Expression" in the help I have not had the need to use it so I can't comment on how usefull it may be. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Stephen, It's a fact of life that PCSoft's examples are not the best in terms of function, designs or any other real world criteria. I think the reason for this is that they see them primarily as teaching examples to illustrate features, but they have very little real world experience. The smtp functions work well. My advice is to start from scratch, in procedural code. Uby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Robin, It is quite straightforward. Copy the analysis directory from the original project into the new project directory and point the new project at it using the "Analysis" option in the "Project Description" Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Cabinetman I must be getting old. There is nothing in the new release that I need and it was the same for V23. I have never gotten around to re-compiling any of my projects from V22 to V23. I think part of it is that based on past experience, I just don't expect many of the shiny new gizmos to work as advertised until the next couple of releases so what is the point in getting eby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Mark Hfilter() is just the setup and then you have to issue HReadFirst() to find the first match. After that I don't think there is any way other than cycling through the data and counting each time you issue HReadNext() I would try a View. I don't think many people use them but they are very fast and extracting the count is simply HnbRec(Viewname) , plus you can then usby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Jim Unfortunately it is just another in a list of unresolved "scale" errors that occur in Windev when projects get over a certain size and I don't think PCSoft are ever going to fix these things. I have not been able to do a project file comparison for many years and over the last year or so I have been unable to run the inbuilt option to check and modify file structureby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Stefan As the content of the memo file can't be retrieved, I see three options. 1. "Trust the force" 2. Ask PCSoft what happens. 3. Prior to deleting the fic record, turn on the memo management, re-read the record and then delete it. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Piet Not really I am abelt and braces type of person, if I set the status then I know it's done Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Paul There are a number of free "File Unlock" programs available on the web. One that I have used in the past is called Unlocker. It is quite old but the review on Softpedia states that it works on Win10 so I have included a link. Maybe you could try some of them out to see if they could work in your situation. Hello Paul When it crashes, try running Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Shared Folders. The Sessions and/or Open Files may give you some clues and you may be able to avoid a reboot by closing sessions and open files. The event viewer is also in that section so it may have an error message. Is there a message of any kind ? Is it possible that a code sby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Stefan Logic tells me that it must always delete the memo regardless of the status of HSetMemo because the purpose of HSetMemo is just to provide faster access to the data in the fic file if the memo is not required for the current process. I set HSetMemo("*","*",hMemoAuto) at the project init and never worry about it later on What happens when you try it with somby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Paul Ever tried to do a jigsaw puzzle without the picture ? Can you provide Windev product and version, Database type - Classic HFCS or other. Is the app stand alone or running on a server ? What is the error message at the time of the crash ? Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello DW Sorry, I misunderstood the problem until Erik's post. I have tried to duplicate the issue but it always works for me, both from F1, and the IDE using the "?", the index search and the actual "Search in the Help" option to load the web site. I use a really old copy of Firefox (ESR 38.5.1) because I am still wedded to tabs under the address bar Does thby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello ccc2 I take a different view regarding PCSoft's investment in Windows Mobile. It was always going to be a risk for them to back that option given the strength of Android and IOS, and as a developer I appreciate that they were willing to take the risk and make the investment, so that we could at least investigate the platform. I think they must have realised early on that MS weby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello DW, Sorry but it's you I normally use the local one because its quicker and matches the copy of Windev I am running. I switched over to the web version to test and even with a blank web page in the setup it still found it Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Jeff I don't have a solution to the placement but maybe an alternative born out of a much earlier time when Windev wasn't as advanced. For forms in my software, I split the page into three components, header, body and footer. For the header and the footer I supply roughly 10 different format for each and these are hard coded with text blocks, and image blocks in specific poby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Jim That is a rare beast you have discovered A genuine, certifiable, provable, demonstrable every time, undeniable PCSoft error. The best thing is to send the details and the error screen to PCSoft. If you haven't done that before there is a specific process to do that in the "?" menu of the main ide labelled "Request to the technical support". PCSoft wiby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Frans If it has been a little while since you last upgraded the server I think if you generate a new client for the users that might solve the problem. They have changed the client process in 11.4 See this note in the update release documentation Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Arie Try turning off the display of Global variables in the debug window. If you have a lot then this does slow thw debugger down considerably. Regards Alby Al - WinDev Forum
Hallo Aad I am familair with TSPlus and the universal printer function to bring printed items back to the local workstation. Hello StefanoG You can create a file to hold all the data parameters required by each report in a memo file. It might be possible to use one of the enumerate functions to retrieve the report parameters to set the file up in the first place and then maintain it when it runs. You could set a sytem variable to run a report to a file after an update and this would pick up the changes and writby Al - WinDev Forum
Hello Aad You will need to use the SMTP provisions in Windev to send emails You need a test in your application so that you can know whether the current application can use Outlook or SMTP Leave the existing email buttons on the preview and add an SMTP option button to call your smtp email window and use your Outlook/SMTP test variable to hide it or not Use the same test variable to see ifby Al - WinDev Forum
