Hi All So I built an app and uploaded to Google Play Store. Now trying to upload to Apple Store. I have compiled and tested in XCode on the Mac - all OK. I then created the archive as per PCSoft help pages. I uploaded the App to the App Connect and that seemed OK. Now trying to add the app for review. Have added all the images and URLs and answered all the questions. I am down to one last issuby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All I have developed an iOS app which has an iWatch part to it as well. I have tested the iOS app on an iPhone using the WMDev app downloaded from the Apple Store. That is all fine. However, can someone explain how does the iWatch part of the app get onto the iWatch? A user downloads the iOS app from the store and then ...? Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
AadG There is no hiding a password in an app which a competent hacker has direct access to regardless of whether you access it via a component or otherwise. That must be accepted. If he has direct access he will attach a debugger and other memory scanning tools and simply intercept the password or the result of password's usage i.e. the data. So then the question is who are you trying toby JP - WinDev Forum
Jeff, You will need to give more information about the how your app is structured and accessed by users in order to give any useful feedback.by JP - WinDev Forum
AadG The truth of the matter is this: once the database and app are on the computer of the hacker then it is only a matter of time before a competent hacker will compromise your database. This is 100% for sure. The reason is that the code is reversible and the password will either be discovered or intercepted. So there are 3 questions you need to consider: 1) What are you trying to proteby JP - WinDev Forum
Paulo, Agree with you. I do have a related question for the forum; does the obfuscation and encrypt-strings settings when creating the Android/iOS app packages provide any real security or are they easily reversible? Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
Pao, The problem with your approach, which has some merit of course, is that a hacker need only search for the function "HPass" and then easily understand the reversal process. Perhaps a better way, if more security is needed, is to: 1) Encrypt the database with the hash of the password 2) Then ask the user for the password on login 3) Hash the given password and see if it matchby JP - WinDev Forum

Hi All I want to compile my WM26 app on an iMac as required. Any suggestions on which iMac is good enough?by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All WinDev Mobile 26 Is there a command/function to display the animated green circle image to show the app is busy? Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
The WIndows server is returning some content as an ANSI string. All that is required is to receive that content into a ANSI STRING in WinDev Mobile. However, the fault was that the script returning the content did not have a content-type header excplcitly stating that the content was charset=windows-1252. Once this was added the iOS WM app understood the content and could process it. Thankby JP - WinDev Forum
Thanks Michael. Yes I am trying that now but cannot find a solution. Found 1 message when searching iOS HTTPRequest but the solution offered does not seem to work for me.by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi Argus I searched for ios HTTPRequest() as you suggested and found the below message suggested : A user has created a procedure to handle the conversion as follows: Procedure WS_Android_IOS_HTTPGetResult() // Variable bufResHTTP is Buffer sHTTPResult is string // Retrieves the result of the query bufResHTTP = HTTPGetResult( httpResult ) // Result in UTF8 em iOS Apple Iby JP - WinDev Forum

Hi All I've been developing an app and testing under Android. All working fine. Now I want to test under iOS. One of the immediate problems I am hitting is with the HTTPGetResult() function. The app makes a call to my server using HTTPRequest() and the server receives a valid request and sends back a reply. Server-side all working fine. Now in the app I always get what appears to be anby JP - WinDev Forum
Argus, thanks, yes I saw that. However it seems that does not work under iOS. There is a way for the notification to call a WD function. Is there a WD function I could use in that called procedure to restore the app from a hidden/minimized state? Cheersby JP - WinDev Forum
Argus, I really phrased my question badly - lol What I'm asking is what is the command/function to restore my app to the foremost visible window after it has been previously hidden/miniized ? So a notification is created, users taps the notification which runs a function in my app, and then ... what do I issue to make my app forefront/visible? Cheersby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All Scenario: My WinDev Mobile app is running in the background and creates a notification in the phone's action bar. Question: I would like the user to be able to tap the notification and bring my app to the forefront. Is this possible?by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi Vassilis, Again that only works if done in the Window's initialization routine. Then it works but once the window is initialized it seems the title cannot be changed ... ?by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi Arie Yes, NextTitle() modifies the next window you open. I want to modify the current window. I found you can use the .Title property but you must do so in the initialization event of the window. Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All Is it possible to change the window title at runtime in a WinDev Mobile app? I tried setting MyWindow..Title and MyWindow..Caption properties but that does not change the window title. Thanksby JP - WinDev Forum
marcov Perhaps a stupid suggestion but what happens if you make sXshop2 a unicode string (not a buffer)?by JP - WinDev Forum
marcov As an initial test I would remove the encode()/decode() to make 100% sure I am getting the content before doing any encoding stuff. If that works then we know it is the encode()/decode() functions. Then I would try different encode()/decode() options to see if they all dont work or only some. If that still fails on encode()/decode() I would contact PCSoft because I think it would then iby JP - WinDev Forum
Marcov I got it working on Android with Argus' help. Post your code for us to see. Maybe something comes to mind.by JP - WinDev Forum
- Argus, thanks, I have worked it out. Needed to do an additional buffer to ANSI String conversion at the end. Thanks. ------ Argus Thanks for the reply. I was thinking its something like that but still cant get it to work .. Hi All I want to encrypt some text and convert that to a QRCode in WebDev 26. The QRCode will be displayed on a web page. Then I want to use a WinDev Mobile 26 app to read the QRCode and decrypt it. But the final decrypt fails without any useful information. Here is some sample code; WebDev on Windows O/S: // Create the encryoted string and set value of QRCode bufClé is Buffer = Hby JP - WinDev Forum
John, Im using grToolTip to create a custom label for each column but it only shows when the mouse hovers on the column.by JP - WinDev Forum
John, I cannot remember off-hand exactly but ... look under the chart control description, details tab. I believe the options "Show Values" is what you want or perhaps the "Display the stacked lables as well" on the same page. Also check the help for chart control functions. Look at column charts and follow the "see also" functions.by JP - WinDev Forum
John, Look at Certify The Web - Application does everything including arranging and installing the certificate for your website and handling renewals. Works fine with WebDev.by JP - WinDev Forum
Hi All Thanks to the working site I found the problem. WebDev was not creating the Handler Mapping for the website folder path. Even though I tried several times it does not create the site-name folder Handler Mapping for calling WD260awp.exe. Anyway, created it manually and now it works. Cheersby JP - WinDev Forum
