It has now been 3 weeks since PCSoft announced that they were reinventing. So far marketing just consists of a rather strange video, no "Grand Angle" videos since May 5th, and a sales pitch that says write us if you are interested. (Btw, I did send a request for information two weeks ago and have gotten no response). I have never seen a company go silent like this, except when theyby dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Hello Windev, my old friend I’ve come to work with you again But your owners are not speaking About the changes they are seeking Questions running through my brain I can’t refrain, I’m troubled by the sounds of silence. Hello Windev, are you there One great Suite for us to share But no details are forthcoming But they say we’ll find it stunning Software tailored to our needs I hopeby dmontaine - WinDev Forum
This PC Soft reinvention: Was it the planned outcome all along with the change to subscriptions being the first step? Or is this a reaction to a dramatic loss of sales and income because of the change to subscriptions? It certainly seems hurried as the marketing is fragmented and the presentation is incomplete. I suppose no one knows for sure, but the whole process since the purchaseby dmontaine - WinDev Forum
I looked at the web site of another software development company also owned by Constellation and also in France, 4D SAS. It is interesting to see how they have split up their subscriptions. They have 4 levels of developer subscriptions starting at $399 / yr for the Bronze level. They also have end customer (users who run their server software and are not developers) subscriptions and purchasesby dmontaine - WinDev Forum
1) at this point you can't buy a WX license without calling PCSoft 2) they indicate in their videos that you will no longer buy individual products (Windev, WebDev, etc) you will buy access to the Windev suite based on the size of your organization What are your thoughts?by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
When you say that "English" is not a language they want to support, do you mean they may discontinue the "international" version or something else?by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Is it true that the "security key" option is only available to existing dongle holders, not new subscribers?by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Yes - downloaded from supplied link. No problems.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
PCSoft Youtube videos say it will be available in June. First year license 50% upcharge on subscription, following years 25% upcharge. You can stop your subscription and still have access to the version current as of your last security key renewal date. I have to say that in my opinion, the videos suck as marketing tools. They look amateurish. At least they are dubbed in English.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Re: Your dream is their nightmare. I will never understand the people that focus only on extracting value rather than creating value. As a niche product you need a community of developers. Having a lower cost basic product encourages developers to try out the solution, build their skills and eventually come to need your more complex products. Also, it helps to diversify your customer baby dmontaine - WinDev Forum
There are several new videos on Youtube about the "security key". One of them answers the question about what happens if you cancel your subscription. It explains that you will continue to have access to the version that was current at the time your purchased the security key. Not stated explicitly, is that you will not have access to the current version as of the date you cancelledby dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Lazarus is capable for those with experience with object oriented pascal. I took a look and it really is more of a learning curve than I am interested in. Probably will just stay with WinDev 2025 for the one application I still support and look for a nice retirement hobby.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
I am going to try Lazarus (or the Code Typhon spin) to rewrite an existing WinDev app. For the third time in my career the company controlling a tool has caused major problems with their changes. I really want to leave proprietary tools behind.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Anyone have any idea how many people have joined?by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Just curious if there are any other users not planning to upgrade their dongle version. After 20+ years using Windev, I feel very betrayed by PCSoft. I will keep using 2025 as long as it works on Windows, which given that many commercial products are using C++ run times from 2015 or below, should be a long time. If you are a resister, like me, please respond.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Anyone have any information about improvements (Dongle version) in this update?by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
I get a 500 error. However I was able to use google to find an individual posting and then navigate from there.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
At least with the Clarion subscription, if you decide to stop subscribing, you are still left with your last update working. You don't lose the ability to work.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Is the Windev community running to take 'advantage' of the new SAAS offering? Or not?by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
I notice that PC soft has stopped the monthly payment option. Now they only allow 1 yr and 3 yrs prepayment. I have already paid for 2025, why would I agree to pay another 540 Euros for a version I have already paid for? Also note that this is a discounted price. The advertised retail price is 89 Euros per month (1068 Euros per year). So you pay 540 to cover mostly a year you have already paby dmontaine - WinDev Forum
Luckily I am retired. I do have 2025 and will keep it in case I need to support a few customers who occasionally ask for modifications. But if I was still an active developer, I would be dropping PC Soft like a hot potato. What's next, them asking for yearly license fees from users of products developed using WX? There are too many open source products to put up with this retro licensingby dmontaine - WinDev Forum

For Windev 64 I copy all the dlls from c:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\bin to <windevInstalldirectory>\Programs\Framework\Win64x86. I realize that you are asking about Webdev, but I am sure these are the files that need to be copied. Just not sure what the target directory for WebDev is. The names of the files are: ijwhost.dll libcrypto-3-x64.dll libcurl.dll libecpg.dll libecpby dmontaine - WinDev Forum

There is a DropBox API. But it looks like it is only for Web Apps and .NET. The web site for the Dropbox API is here; As far as I could find out, there is no way to make a DropBox store look like a part of the Windows file system.by dmontaine - WinDev Forum
