Hi Peter The phone has version 9 installed on it? What is the minimum version that I must create the apk for? Maybe that is it. Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Jan Yes - saved with .apk extension. Where are you actually saving it on the device? What is the path you are using? When the app that downloaded it, the same app that is now installing, shellexecutes, it actually runs but then says that it cannot install. If I navigate to the app on the device and run it installs with no problems. What code are you using it to save it after download?by André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Jan Just tried and it fails. Copies down and then when shellexecute runs and asks id want to install and when say yes - it then says app not installed. I have included android.permission.INSTALL_PACKAGES in the apk. Once the apk is down where are you storing it before shellexecute? Would be nice to get this working. Has anyone else managed to get this to work? Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Jan "All my apps are NOT in a store. I use my own server" So do we. "With Android not a problem." Except for the automatic start. "IOS is a different story which i can tell if you are interested" Please do - not a problem for us as we have Enterprise Apps so it is automatic. Hi info "If you have an app on Google Play it should automatically update on Android. This is *not* in any public store - it is in a private store. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi jtadebruin "Shellexecute the apk... How do you do that? Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Pete I am also interested in this. Apple Enterprise is not a problem. But Android still requires the user to explicitly select install. It really is a problem. If anything is not to be trusted it is the Apple Store and the Google Store. We steer clear of them. If anyone has a solution to this happy to pay for it. And now with Huawei writing their own OS and will have to have theiby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Sorted - it looks as though one of the PCSoft servers was down - it is all working now. I had no idea that you needed to be online to compiled Android apps in WX. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi All Suddenly, just suddenly I am getting an error wen compiling: System error sending HTTP request. System error message: Protocol not supported. It then asks for you to update the tool and then when you try you get the same error as above. Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas? WM 06A220073h Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Al My experience has been varied - sometimes fast, other times slow. I am generally satisfied with their support. It is probably as good as it gets, judging the support from other vendors. ccc2 is correct - keep upgrading and you will probably have a better experience. Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi All Turned out to be a port issue. Server is a VM and the default port was open so it worked when we left it at that. The other port had not been opened. We just left the port as 80 and did the port forwarding using that port. It was a combination of me being clueless and the IT guy defending his system - very frustrating - sure you have all been down this road before. So I have nowby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
JP I rove around the planet but am currently in Sandton in South Africa. As Paulo says - check that registry entry - we encountered an issue where permissions on a port had changed - and bang the thing went south. Got hold of Montpelier and they immediately pointed to permissions. Check the thread WebDev 22 - Failure Adding Alias To IIS. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi JP Looks like a permissions error. What port are you using for the virtual server the web site is attached to? Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Paul Had no idea you get even generate an apk file that large. Maybe Google Play does not allow files that large. Is there any spec that states what the largest size can be? What problems are you having? Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Yogi You can use one. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Al Still no spreadsheet control for WebDev Been waiting for this since WX16. They are so far behind the bus on this one. They really need to get this sorted out. Not one navigable grid control for the web. Unless I have missed something. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi King We have tried 2008, 2012 and 2016. All IIS 8. Same problem. Montpelier has confirmed that it is a permissions issue. I have never seen this before - it has to have something to do with the rights of the administrator installing the OS from the network - seems as though something is being inherited from somewhere. Wish I knew what it is as I really would prefer to not add the virby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi All We have many dozens of WAS installations in the field. For the first time we have now encountered an issue when installing a web app from a hard install - we do not using ftp. The error is: Failure adding the <name of alias> alias to the configuration of the Web server. You must configure your Web server manually by adding a virtual directory containing scripts. Hi Yogi Interesting - there are so many options out there these days it is difficult to keep up with them. Not sure what you mean by serious. Been cobbling together code for going on 36 years now and have come to the conclusion that serious to one person is trivial to another and vice versa. Have not looked at NodeJS but have dribbled around in Python and PHP and have in our case discountby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Yogi You wrote: If you are looking for a good web base spreadsheet we are currently using EtherCalc (https://ethercalc.net/) in a NodeJS project and it is working really well. Of course we are currently customizing it to suite our needs but overall it is worth using and its support for allowing multiple users to edit same sheet is just great. Hi DW Why? We do many of them with zero issues. What is the problem? Cheers Andreby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi JP For many reasons I would definitely go with web apps …… except for this little problem: - you wrote: Users must be able to create "documents" which will have a "spreadsheet" type layout to them. They are not actually XLS files but will look similar to that i.e have rows and columns and users will edit these documents, enter text into cells and so forth. Hi Happy holidays to all and may we all have a happy new year too. And thanks to the many gifted folk on this forum who give of their time to help us mere mortals. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Steve You will need to use a different port for TSPlus. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi All We are using the MSDASQL option to connect to a database. We have had zero issues for many years using WX products. It simply works. One of our clients has set up a server in the DMZ where the web apps will be running, among other things. These web apps connect to a database that is on the LAN. Hi All Is there a way to detect which column in a table has been selected and then trigger some code based on that? Cheers Andreby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum
Hi Mike Ha - cool. I have seen that before - a bust control. Now you know where to come for help. Great forum this. Cheers Andréby André Labuschagné - WinDev Forum

Hi Dave You wrote: > I find that's often the more productive solution with PCSoft products.
