Hi Christine, if you need to authorize access to this webservice from your application, and your application ONLY... WHY would you want to use certificates? Your application should know who is logged where Your application should ALSO know who is authorized to use the web service So you check that (and no need of certificate for that) and your application does access the webservice oby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Raul welcome back... As for your question, the answer is CODE... Instead of setting the image in the field in the windev UI, do it by code in the opening of each window (that's where windows templates are great) MyLogoField=completedir(fExeDir())+logo.jpg is all you need Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, even if it works in your test, NOTHING says it will work tomorrow, at the next upgrade of the cloud drive software, as they are not aware of your test and care not about it... yes, it would be marvelous if it worked, and it would give me an ulcer if I tried to relay on that system. And I'm not even talking about the legal liabilities of designing such a system KNOWING that iby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Willy It's in the project options... you have one tab where you can set the languages options (day, time, numeric format, date format, etc) Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Christine why do you want to use certificates? Logically, the web service should have an authentication system built in (user+password or, in webservice lingo, ID+Secret key) If that is the case, and it should, you just have to store these IDs inside your application DB (encrypted) of course, for each user/PC allowed to access the web service and pass the appropriate information durinby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, that is something that I would never trust... To have at the same time two completely different systems (HF and a cloud drive software) read and write in the same files sounds like a recipe for disaster. Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Piet, so If I understand correctly, you want the transparency to act as transparency is SOME cases, but not all. I do not think that is going to work... The only way I would see that as possible would be to work on a byte level and transform the image as you want it... So, basically, transform both images into array, then merge the two array the specific way you want by code, thenby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dennis The solution you chose will work but is WAY more complicated than just doing a halias... Your choice... Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dennis; I cannot help you with your code, as Im' using a webservice to work on the server level (that is much more secure) but I can give you a method that WILL work... Instead fo changing the connection for your file, use hAliad to declare aliases of the files you need to reach on the server. Theses different names will be connected to you C/S connection, but your main files wiby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Piet MyImageField="" before doing your copy should do the trick Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dennis, AFAIK, it works on all version you will find out there these days, but it probably wont work on a very old phone with an android 2 on it... :-) I have personally tested an application a few month ago on phones hosting android v4 to 7 and there was no problem on that part. best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi André, to remove the old files, at the beginning of the code to print a new report, I check the date time of the files in that directory, and I delete anything older than 24hours... You already have the datetime in the name, you just need to move your files to a subdirectory for that process to be extremely fast. This will also allow the user to download the file after they read it inby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi André, the button in which this code is should have a setting of "new browser" on the first tab. And you should REMOVE the fdelete, as the file will in some case be deleted before it can be displayed. best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi André, those are not variable, they are fir*elds that are either linked to some data or static... In both case, you simply code FieldName=Value to change the desired field. Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Frans, In HF 7+, the file is linked to the analysis (GUID); and in some cases, that link can be broken (yellow)... it can also be that the file version is not the same as the other ones so there is adoubt a bout it. By default, these files are not upgraded but both wdmodif AND hmodifyStructure have an option to FORCE the upgrade... So just look in the help for it and you will be fine.by fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dennis a location that users can read/write without any control... To verify the content of the DB, I use a window/plane inside the app, with a table and a hbuildbrowsingtable... best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi, @Dennis: I always have my DB in the program directory (NOT on the sdcard where the user can touch it, mess with it) As for the local HF DB 'connection', we are talking about HF CLASSIC here, on android, so the "connection" is only a file that is open or not, and that doesn't change when the app goes into background; that I know of. Even if the file was closed, iby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dennis I'm not sure a lot of people are using SQL lite at all... I personally don't see any advantage over HF and you are loosing so much functionality. And no, up ill now, I've never have this problem with HF. Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Derek personally, in a case like that, I prefer to have the menu always visible at the top, and that is done by making the menu in a cell, and in the cell properties, saying that it is anchored at the top. Now, of course, you can also have your button in a cell like that and in the button set it as a link to an "anchor" (html sense). You just need in that case to have a controlby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
One thing is sure, it's not the display of the content that is going to be slow (except if you try to display a 450MB string, as I did a few days ago, which resulted in a 34 mn wait) but the data ACCESS and the answer to that one is even more complex Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
>> Not using H files though. as you can see, once again your loss :-)by fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
hooo... it seems that you are asking if any pre-made html/css templates can be used with webdev, and the answer is NO. Amm the code is generated by webdev all the time, so except for using part of css files as styles in webdev, you will not be able to use templates as in wordpress... I did start to code this kind of things in my site (colors are customizable, by example); but I did not codby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi it depends on so many other factors that it's not even funny... Especially because: 1. you seem to oppose the fact of LINKING field to data and queries, even though you can link fields to a query exactly the same way than to a file. 2. You do not define what 'better' is supposed to mean in that context (faster to code? easier to debug? faster in execution? ...) Bestby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Steven if you mean a web site whose content is coming from the DB (articles and such) then yes.. my website is done that way. (article pages, chapter pages, dynamic menu, etc, etc) Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi André +1 timer+ajaxexecuteasyncrhonous I will add the use of hversion to check if a file has changed and there is a need to refresh anything Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dje does it have to be programmatically? I'm asking because it's a 10 seconds job doing it by hand in the HF control center... if it HAS TO be by code, then you could try (I have not tested) to modify the content of the info file that is created at the root of the backup. If I remember correctly, that's where the name of the DB is stored as text, and you hsould be able toby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Peter, I have seen the same thing happening for one of my application, and numerous applications that I'm using on different phones and tablet... It SEEMS that it started with android 7 and is NOT windev mobile specific (I found multiple references to the problem on android development forums). I have contacted PCSoft regarding that problem and unfortunately, even with all my detaiby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi André, there is no built in mechanism for a windows application to return 5 variables. It can return ONE numerical value, and that's the end of it. Therefore there is no mechanism in windev to get more than that. To get THE return value, see EXERun help. If you need more than that, then you need to build a special mechanism in both application (shared memory, by example). Bestby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi André, it's just like any other file copy it in the correct directory and open it+add it to the project when prompted best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Ruben, if you have the time to write it, it would be a great resource for everybody to have a 'how to' combine the WM23 obfuscation and the Proguard optimization... I'm sure that there are options and settings and a few NO-NOs... Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
