PostgreSQL and the H Commands
April 01, 2024 10:20AM
Hi All

For now I have dropped the PostgreSQL Native access as I could not get it working. I strongly suspect dll hell - version of PostgreSQL vs version of WB.

So I am trying the ole/db option that I have used successfully with other backends. It seems as though I cannot use this with PostgreSQL - the connection is made and HExecuteSQLQuery works perfectly but, for example, HReadSeekFirst always returns a not found even though I am using a PK int value that I know exists and works in pgAdmin and other backends etc. So I ask:

[1] Has anyone used ole/db with WB with PostgreSQL successfully?

[2] If so are there any nuances or tricks to bear in mind?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
André

Sorted - Name of the table in the external database must not include the schema.

Hi

I had the same with sql server connector.
How do you make a connection?

Running the sql commands sqlexec and sqlgetcol etc require a different connection .

so you want to use hfunctions?
How do you connect with connection in the analyse or by programming ?

Give me a bit more info and I think I can help you out.
