Hi Dennis,
1 - just in case that HFSQL C/S is the only database system you're using, you CAN build your log-ins etc on the user-system of the database. I did it once and there had been quite a few obstacles. It's about 15 years ago and, maybe, things are very different today. However, if you do so, you will have to use HFSQL C/S with that program ONLY! No way out.
2 - If you want your program to be able to switch between several databases (like HFSQL Classic, MySQL, POSTGRESQL etc) then you should use a log-in-system that's fully independent of the HFSQL C/S user system. And yes, only a single user is necessary for access to the database.
