This is a text in HTML 
abcde

The HTML looks like this : 
<body text="#000000" bgcolor="#ffffff"><p>abcde</p></body>

The cursor is placed on the letter c
Is there a function that returns 45 and not 3.

You might want to have a look at the native htmldocument variable type to work with this type of document.
