WEBDEV and Linux

Hi,
I am experimenting with a installation of HFSQL and WEBDEV on a Ubuntu Linux server.
_AND_ everything seems to work just fine (especially HFSQL) - all v26.
But I have a few questions for anybody using the above:
(1) Where is the best place (on Linux) to save and read ini files?
(2) Any incompatibilities between Windows and Linux (for WinDEV, WEBDEV) that I should be aware of?
I will post here everything I find as I progress moving the alpha360 project to Linux.

Hi,
Do you see any speed advantages on Linux vs Windows IIS ?
Do you use the Docker option ?
I would love to hear from your experience moving Alfa360 from Windows IIS to Linux Appache !
I have some problems doing it for our Web Application because we use some certificate functions that are not yet available on Linux.

Hi,
(1) I haven't done any real speed tests yet - but I expect a speed advantage from Linux, mainly because my Windows Server does not support all my server's cores. Windows Server really costs a lot if you have a lot of cores on your servers ...
Although the HFSQL server seems to work just fine, I can't say the same for WDAdminHF260 - ofcourse it could be a problem with my Linux settings ..
(2) Docker will have to wait until I know Linux a little more
(3) WebDev and Webservices and Certificates are next on our list
Generally speaking, my Linux experience is positive - and I think the problems, probably, come from my limited Linux knowledge.

we have HFSQL running under CentOS fpr many years now and there's nothing to complain!

Hi Guenter,
can you create and run a query with WDAdminHF260 ?
Even simple queries have problems in my installation.
I am attaching 2 image files to show the problem ...
* Using Ubuntu Server and HFSQL v26

Hi Steven,
I'm sorry, we have no WEBDEV Application Server running on this CentOS-server, we and a bunch of customers are accessing the HFSQL database through a php web service and in addition through port 4900. So I can't test your Query.
