Hi,

first things first. You have to add your certificate into the Windows Certificate Manager. You can do that by simply double-clicking the certificate's files which you received from the certification authority. Whenever your certificate is correct for "code signing" WINDEV will recognize it and show it during the compilation process.

Hi,
thank you for your answer, but as I am not so familiar for these certificates,
can I ask one question:

Maybe there is misunderstand to me that we have bougth 'Code Signing' for
our exex but I found in window in certmgr that this suppose there in windev
are 'Client Authentication 'ebfd769a496f9c37' this is 'Token Signing Public Key'
which in windev exe generation that is not working.

And Now I have set out code signing same place in windows store in my PC.
And it does not appear directly.

So what I have done wrong, I have used windev since 1997 but never before try
this 'Code signing' or other signing methods in windev.-

Hi Lasse,
do yourself a favor and ask commodore support how to add your certificate to the Windows Certificate Manager.
After that everything is automatic with Windev ...

Took me a day or 2 the first time I used code signing - mainly because my "issuer" did not send me all the needed files

Okay, thanks all for helping. Now we have this certificate but ...

Still there comes this:

"Windows protected your PC
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from
starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.
More Info"

And when our customer clicks this 'More Info' it tells:
"App: 85767753_Dajesan....EXE
Publisher: Dajersan Oy"

How could this be avoided? Has anyone encountered the same problem?

Hi, yes, you have to register your web site at Microsoft as a safe web site. After that, these idiotic messages will be gone, almost immediately! For inputting, start at that message when trying to install the application.

Thank you Guenter,

but in this this this is too expensive for us pay over 350$ per year.

So we continue this with these "harmful" exe codes but we have now
certificate for one year.

Hi Lasse,

code signing is the only way to be able to sell your software by download and have it accepted by Windows / Microsoft!

There are much cheaper signing authorities, just use Google and input 'code signing certificate free'

Hi

We paid about 300€ per three years (100€/year) via certigo if I recall correctly...
It took 2 weeks to get the validation done though but it is the only way to have trusted exe's...

Cheers
