WM 22 Android: Files remaining after uninstall

Hi All,

After uninstalling and re-installing a new version I find that one data file (at least) is not being deleted.

Where are the data files (HF) stored and how can I completely remove them?

Thanks

Pete

Hi All,

I'm still getting this problem on a Sony Xperia running Android 9.

I uninstall the app, run a cleaner and restart, then when I install a fresh version (which includes data) the new version is installed but the old data (from the uninstalled version) reappears and the new data is not installed along with the app. Is the data still there after uninstalling?

Seems to be OK on Android 10.

How do I completely uninstall an app so this doesn't happen please?

Thanks

Pete

Hi Peter

I had the same problem, I failed to solve that case

Hi,

Thanks for the nod

Pete
I found the same problem in SOME cases, where uninstall and reinstalling an app showed old data...

A solution that worked each time for me was to uninstall the app, restart the phone, then reinstall the app.

Because of that, it looked like some still alive process was keeping the file open so I tried another solution that works too. Instead of simply uninstalling, I do this:
- long press on the app icon and go to its proprieties
- there, force close the app
- there also, delete all data
- finally, uninstall
