Hi to all !
Is possible to configure Developer Groupware for developers
over the internet so we (3 of us) can connect on the server with project
inserted into SCM and make modifications into project.
Insert codes, Create windows make tests and so on.

If can. Which is procedure (maybe in steps) to do this.
I'm try this but with no effect.
What is necesary steps to set-up this situation.

We do this for two developers with the SCM database at a third location. The key was to make sure that the C/S database is on an external IP address and all the ports needed are open through the firewall (4900,4999,5002). Then create the SCM database and add all the users. Last store the project there. There may be more steps that I don't remember as we did this a year ago.

I found it useful to use the Remote options to work offline and then reconnect and synchronize but then I was the primary developer and the other one was actually a salesman that was doing layout on static pages.

Jeff!
Thank you for your answer.

1. So, I want to create project on PC with 24h internet connection with DynDNS updater
2. I and two of my partners want to make connection into same project from home and
work on peaces of project so we all have Check In, Check Out real time updated project
3. We all have same access rights 'couse we are all developers

If I'm understand you, Analysis must be C/S not Classic.
Where is Remote option ?
Maybe I will have more questions, but first I will try to implement your post and try to make some work winking smiley) Step-by-step. Thank you again.

The Analysis does not have to be C/S, but the SCM data base should be C/S. You can create that with the SCM Administrator functions.

The "Remote work" is a sub menu of "SCM".

The check out and check in does work quite well.

Cheers,
Jeff

Jeff:

is that quite well remark is for Windev apps or WebDev apps also.?

Cause I dont have problems with windev, but with webdev it appears everything in the project view but when I want to open a page it hangs, if I am local everything works fine, but not remote.

Andres,

We use the SCM for both WinDev and WebDev. When I have had a hang, it usually meant that the connection was failing. That was when I found out that the additional ports were required. Did you test your connection? Were you able to access the SCM with the administrator tool?

It Works !
I'm start this accross DynDNS and reroute IP to my server computer.
1. Create SCM C/S database local network
2. Append project into SCM
3. Create account and Hosts on DynDNS page for free (I'm create 3 hosts)
4. Download DynDNS updater for windows install and put into Tray, only for server
5. From computer with internet start Windev and Open project from SCM
6. Choose Client/Server option
7. Server: myhost.dyndns.com
8. Database: SCM (example)
9. Port: 4900
10. User name (must be declared into SCM), login into SCM : Admin
11. Create account and connect
12. After this all projects from SCM Server are visible for development

I hope this will help all other developers to manage SCM without any problems.
