WinDev 14 (French)

Hi friends,

WinDev / WebDev / WinDev mobile 14 (French pre-versions) will be downloadable starting with 5th of December.

Our unknown friend behind 'I like WinDev' explains how to use the French version 14 for English programming (by showing a few screenshots of v14 !): [ilikewd.free.fr] - a warning however, the IDE, the Help system, RAD and pretty much everything else will be still in French. Do not think of buying the French version if your French is null, non-existing, nada, nix. Of course, as usual, there will be a delay of some months until the English version will appear.

If you're interested, I (and presumably all the other distributors too) offer to sell upgrades from WinDev 12 to WinDev 14 French from now on. There are several ways.

1 - any Wx-products ordered / delivered from 15th of September on are v14 already! If you want to know whether you received a v14 dongle, you just have to look into the IDE ? .. About WinDev where you can / cannot see a serial number starting with W14A...
Btw, a short intro into PCS dongle serial numbers:
1st Letter: W = WinDev, T = WebDev, K = WinDev mobile
2nd + 3rd: Version number
4th letter: A = Anglais (English), I = International, F = French
+ 6 numerics: the serial number

Note: PC Soft Wx-Dongles allow to use the French OR the English versions. The dongles themselves do not limit you to use a single language version!

2 - Until the last day of December 2008, you can upgrade from v12 to v14 (French!) for the special price of 399,- Euros + shipping & handling. If you own more and different Wx-products, please see the French 'Tarif' page of [www.pcsoft.fr] : [www.pcsoft.fr] for pricing. A positive note: PC Soft prices did not change for many years!

You will receive a pack of French manuals plus a French CD and that's it. If you want to use the English version later, you just have to download it from the English web site - but you will receive no English manuals an no CD. Your dongle will be French and you have to explicitely change over to the English version if you want to upgrade to WinDev 15/US, however, changing is not a Cent more expensive!

3 - If you want to receive English manuals too, you have to upgrade from your English to an 'International version' which entitles you to receive the French AND the English manuals and is 100,- Euros more expensive than the French or English versions. Per product! An order of the International version will get you the French version / manuals NOW plus the English version & manuals later.

4 - If you decide to wait for the English versions, we cannot take any orders now but have to wait until the English version is announced! There will be another period of special upgrade pricing for the English versions, of course.

Not in English. There is a French brochure

containing the full news.

If you want to know more about an item, just copy the text and use Google's language tool in order to get a not so bad translation from French to English.

At the TDF in Brussels, the PCSoft guy talked about end of April for the English pre-version... But... no commitment on those dates as usual.

Well he is back to spain now and no WinDev 14 in my shoe.

Bad news. Anyway, there's still some hope for Santa Claus ;-) Imho, it's irrelevant if our French friends start to test v14 three days earlier or later, but it's very relevant to us when testing and bug-picking has finished and and a somewhat cleaned 14/US goes out.
