Windev 12 - Update Data Files

Hi,

I have a client that had an update to her software. When I created the new
installation procedure, I made sure that I checked the option to update the
datafiles.

Today, she installed the item, and she is getting an inconsistency in the
analysis. This tells me that WDModFic did not run or run correctly.

Can someone tell me how to have WDModFic run properly. I know this
information was on the old forum but nothing is available.

Hello Georgio,
I had a similar issue when I upgrade my client who was use it in client/server. The end result is they only updated the client and not the actual Manta server. Once the updated the manta server it worked fine.

Sorry, I forgot to add this is not client/server. This is hyper/file client server.

Any ideas?

Ok, found the issue ... everything lately is a learning curve.

Since this was a Vista machine, the program was being installed in the Program files(x86) directory for 32 bit compatible programs.

When the WDModFic would run, it was looking at the above captioned directory but it really should have been modifying the files in Vista's VirtualStore. (Apparently, Vista does not like software accessing data files in Program Folders *sucks*)

After we pointed to the correct (but hidden) directory, all files were updated and the program started with no problems.

I'm thinking that I should have a 64bit exe for Vista clients. Thoughts?
