Hi Guenter, thanks for the input. I figured there would be no easy answer to this. I did ETL conversions for our clients back turn of the century and for another company a few years later, and from what I can dig up it has not gotten any easier nor any better tools. ETL... the redheaded forgotten stepchild in the project. Usually the last to be done. ETL is a one shot convert and done, bringing the old data forward, then forgotten. What is the best practice these days? Can we just create a new WD project, copy over the analysis of the new project, then use file import to pull in one of the old files at a time (creating all fields for import, then write tby ArtBonds - WinDev Forum

Workaround hack here. Put a DateB4 in the data file. When your program makes a change to your date field, put the old value in DateB4. When your data gets to the trigger, check DateB4. If there is a value, do you thing, then reset the DateB4 field to blank. JAT, Artby ArtBonds - WinDev Forum
ISO, How do you KNOW the number of records that have been deleted at any one time? Are you using a counter on screen that decrements for every record deleted? Or a progress bar? Trace? From prior tests I have found that anytime you DISPLAY something on the screen it adds time to the procedure. LOTS of time. If you are displaying something, don't.
