Hi everybody, DPS par DataTale is a package of Windows, Android and web applications made for first responders groups (SNSM, Red Cross, etc). It is currently available only in French and is perfectly adapted to the french market specificity. It has been in used on the ground for more than a year, and we have just pushed v2 out of BETA. Its main big selling points: - powerful: from alertingby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
To David, I quote "...unlike others (Fabrice) who choose to blame everyone and everything else..." If that isn't aggressive, I don't know what is... And to be perfectly honest, I've had enough of people with your attitude on french forums, where I decided to stop answering questions because of that. It seems that the problem is now coming up on English languby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum

Hi Michael I have never tried in a service, and as services limitation is all about UI, and saving the content of an image field is too; there MAY be a problem there. It would definitely work with a regular exe running all the time, but you'll have to try doing it in a service, as I'm not sure about it. OR... You could create all the thumbnails at the time when the pdf is introducby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Michael, then you can just display the pdf itself in an image field (myImageFIeld=MyPDfFile). That's what the windows file explorer is doing anyway, if the slow display of big pdf fields is any indication. Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Michael thumbnails in what context? Thumbnails of which page of the pdf? The first one? All? One solution to create thumbanisl is to display the pdf in a small image field (the size of the thumbnail you want) and do a saveimagejpg of that image field; but without more information, I'm not sure I'm really answering your question. Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi David, When have I been blaming anything on anybody? AFAIK, I always try to give answer that will provide some kind of solution. I may not agree on HOW to do things, but that is all, and the solutions that I'm giving are working. It looks to me like YOU are the one being aggressive here. And I don't remember you giving any answer to anybody on this forum... EVER? So I&by fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Piet, in the past, I have achieved the same effect without any JS code or event. Just using one big cell dimensionned to cover the whole page, and in the middle of it, what looks like a popup (another cell by example) The click code of the big cell just contain a test on the mouse position to verify that it's not in the small center cell. Hi of course, it depends on the TYPE of table.. if linked to a file or query, you need a completely different code. Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, RQ is installed along everything else with the full version, AFAIK. Stand alones RQ are generally available only in updates Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dennis I'm not sure alot of people are STILL using MDI, a technology that even microsoft has abandonned (and they created it) Maybe it's time to modernize your application? best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum

Hi again regarding pcsoft built in solution, I think that you should avoid it at all cost because it seems that they don't care about being compatible from one version to the next. I have seen multiple reports of problems with their system with each 20..21..22..23 change in version. And as it's very simple to code, there is no good reason to stay with the internal function here. Bby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, so miscommunication from the start, and it looks like we continue to do that :-) What I call a reverse index is to create a secondary index with an inverted string in it So messerschmidt would be recorded in the revered index as tdimhcsressem (if I didn't make a mistake). In that case, it would allow to find very fast any word ending by schmidt, as the code would do a startby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum

Hi Dennis are you sure you are using the latest v22? check the subversion to be sure... I'm asking because I have been using v22 quite a lot, and I've never seen anything of the kind you are describing Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Derek there are several levels to your answer. Level 1: It's quite easy. You need a server reachable by a httprequest (ie web server) where you put the installer and a text file containing the last version At program start (or on timer, or at program end or) you do a httprequest to get the text file, compare version, and if new version propose/force update, do a httprequest to getby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, I don't think that we can talk about speed with only 6000 records... Reading all of them in a query should take less than a second anyway. Furthermore, doing a search on messer* is NOT the case I was talking about, as it is a fast STARTS WITH condition and it should always work extremely fast if there is any type of index. The case that was creating the error should be the oby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi or you could just upgrade to v23 and have all that managed for you. as you will HAVE TO upgrade anyway if your app is in the google play store (v20 will soon be not compatible) and you will have more and more problem with new phones, I advise to do just that Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi first, NO... if you ant the SYSTEM minimize button, you will also get the close button Second, you have several solutions to do what you want: 1. remove the whole title bar and replace it by a static with your title and YOUR minimize button with the minimize function in it OR 2. Keep the system title bar with all button but add a hidden button with ALT+F4 as a shortcut... Insteaby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi again, yes you can... You just need to add the file in the library (there is an option button for that when compiling) and then use fExtractResource when you want to read it/write it on disk: Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Dennis I have not seen this case, but ONE of the differences between 19 and 22 is the introduction of a different type of management for positions and size (has to do with dpi management). It's an option of the project that asks if you want to work in pixels (old way) or in relative coordinates, which helps top manage high DPI screens... So what you are describing MAY be coming fromby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi Ola, -IF- I understand correctly, you are trying to use a full text index, which is specially made to return fast result, with a CONTAIN search (which is the slowest possible search, as it requires to read all records and compare inside)... And it looks like it this illogical case was not controlled before and is now, hence your error. So, what you can do: - for any contain search, dby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi nConversionDepassementExt() seems to say that you are working on a number that is too big somewhere... There is an article on my web site on a series of possible causes for GPFs (random error), maybe that can help here too Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum

Hi about art's workaround if you need to do all that in order to make your trigger work, then don't use a trigger and do what you need directly in the modifying code. Personally, I have, a long time ago, written hadd/hmodify/hdelete global procedures overwritting the regular ones where I do all the 'automatic stuff + the normal hadd/hmodify/hdelete... Hi, yes, they are announcing both translator of windev to webdev and windev to windev mobile both things i find NOT interesting, as the development philosophy of each platform is completely different, and "translating", in my experience, does NOT work Best regardsby fabriceharari - WinDev Forum
Hi everybody, v24 was announced to day (in French, as usual) and should be available end of year (as usual) and usable around may (if nothing changes)...
