HF C/S Reset tool

During debug testing, particularly when there are multiple analysis changes, the _$$_TRSVAL files are left and cause errors. Also old integrity constraints don't get deleted or updated. These problems cause errors in integrity checking and in WDModfic.

Running WDModfic on the data bases cannot clear these items. The only way I have found to clear them up is to delete the _TRS and _System folders for the server, as well as all hidden folders for each database. Then run WDModfic to apply new constraints.

I would like to suggest a tool that will clear out _$$_TRSVAL files, all constraints and then reload the constraints.

This suggestion has been registered with PC Soft and submitted to developers.

Hi Jeff, this is a very good suggestion! After a lot of testing, changing file structures etc, there are multiple relations and lots of other garbage, which, from time to time, even shows errors which aren't there for real. And yes, there should be some tool in order to reset everything to the settings in the analysis. Sometimes WDMODFIC asks for restructuring a certain file but obviously does not and consequently asks for a restructure at next occasion. Only adding a dummy field, doing a restructure and deleting that field plus another restructure will kind of repair the problem. Somehow connected to this, it seems that generation numbers in the analysis are sometimes not in sync with the generation numbers in the file header and no error comes up. Regards, Guenter
