Users not upgrading their dongle version

Just curious if there are any other users not planning to upgrade their dongle version. After 20+ years using Windev, I feel very betrayed by PCSoft. I will keep using 2025 as long as it works on Windows, which given that many commercial products are using C++ run times from 2015 or below, should be a long time.

If you are a resister, like me, please respond.

I have a copy of V26 but was so disillusioned with the IDE changes I resolved not to go on and dropped back to V25.
V25 does all that I need and I have a spare dongle so it will see me out.

I did join the WX Alliance, just to support them but I have no real hope that anything will come out of it and at the moment the web site is all in French.

We have no intention of upgrading WD & WB but will probably have to upgrade WDMobile due to changing requirements that Apple and Google have. But we will avoid this as long as we can. WD and WB we will almost certainly never upgrade simply because we have no need for anything more than what version 2024/25 already offers. We also use other development tools. It's sad really because we have been upgrading WD since version 10, maybe even earlier.

I am using wd since version 17. I did yearly updates but now i will stay with wd 2024 until they bring back the dongle version. if they dont bring it back in the next 2 or 3 years i will choose another solution (c#, blazor, svelte, i am not sure yet).

i will not be upgrading and leave all development (WD) as is.
Will choose between C++ and delphi depending on need but I am not able to trust PCSoft even if they declare that licences will be perpetual. It is a question of trust.

I'm on SaaS for 2 years now but WX is an ending story in our case.
Still paying the yearly fee to keep some customer solutions alive (Keep the lights on, that's it) but nothing more.
I think I launch the IDE not more than once a month or so. That's it...

In a world where AI is everywhere, closed systems like WX become prisons.
AI will not be the disruptor, but will be the enabler of disruption in many sectors and software development above all.

The closed WX model has no future in this context.
Software will become a commodity in a world where generative AI, based on global open standards (Postgresql, Python, JS, ...) and open frameworks can build prototypes in hours instead of days or weeks.

Our world has already drastically changed and it will only continue to do so at a much higher speed.

Yo compre la 2025 y me encontré con este valde de agua fría, con que lo se no compro la licencia y para mas remate compre las 3 , en fin aquí me quedare a menos que esta gente cambie su política, no podemos pagar cada mes por nada, porque eso es lo que obtendrás al final del camino , si no pagas no tienes nada.

I bought the 2025 and was met with this bucket of cold water, so I know not to buy the license, and to top it off, I bought all three. Anyway, I'll stay here unless these people change their policy. We can't pay every month for nothing, because that's what you'll get at the end of the day: if you don't pay, you get nothing.

Hello everyone,

The association, which has only existed for four months, is continuing its various activities in the hope of negotiating with PC Soft soon.

Indeed, there are alternatives that are more or less similar to our tools. Nevertheless, there is a pool of existing applications that must be maintained and developed, at least in the short and medium term.

The association's main objective (but not the only one) is to maintain perpetual licenses that don't require an internet connection and can be updated. Anyone who believes in this approach is invited to join us.

As you can see, the association's website is bilingual, and we make the effort to translate as much content as possible. To further improve communication with non-French speakers, we are looking for someone who could take charge of these translations. As you know, an association shouldn't be a full-time job for its leaders. It's primarily a team effort because, as we've seen, no one gets anything done by PC Soft on their own.

Hello together,

after now 22 years of using WINDEV as my beloved tool for software engineering, Version 2025 is my last product from PCsoft.Today we decided to turn to Scriptcase for Web development and switch all our applications from Windows to WEB and PHP over the next 12 months.

The new subscription policy is too expensive and a dead end for small developers.

Maybe PCSOFT will learn their lesson from the market.
