GPW

Hello to all members !
I have project completed in version 24. I am import this project in versions 2024 and then 2025.
But, I have problem with GPW Database. It can not be imported. Rights are not respected.
GPU_ConnectionHistory.FIC is problem on start . I delete this file and GPW recreate new.
I log without problem with same old GPW but rights are in GPW database and not respected.

I also try to import (Option: retreive) from User Gropuware management, but have an error as User.Fic file can not be opened or not exist
even this file 100% exist. Is there any posibility to import rights from older GPW table versions into 2025. Help in groupware say "compatibility with version17". I think 24 version is newer than 17. But...
Any help and suggestion to solve this sitzuation is welcome.

The GPW version of the group ware was replaced by a GPU version I think in V17. That version had a process to import the GPW files and I think you may have to go back to that version, do the import and V2024/25 should recognise it.

When I start manualy User groupware with gpwOpen() Windev create GPW_Database on my HFSQL C/S server.
Because of that I was write GPW instead of GPU. I see it same with different name. Little upgraded maybe.

So, I use User groupware of version 24. I haven't version 17 of that.
So, I think I can not downgrade User groupware.
User groupware files can be opened , I can use same users and passwords but rigths defined in version 24 are not respected.
When I open rights management all controls are in default "ENABLED" status.
Maybe some different file keep rights. I must open and investigate table files in hfsql center.

I hope someone has or was same problem and he/she resolve it.

I think I'm found a problem.

Table: GPU_Element_Configuration.FIC in version 24 and version 29/30 2024/2025 have different field name for rights.
In version 24 field name is STATUS, until in version 2024/2025 it is a STATE.

So when you open User GroupWare 24 in version 2025 new field STATE is cretaed and filled with value 1.
In this way all users have full rights on all windows, reports, controls, and so on. Field STATUS is simply ignored.

I send this situation to PC SOT support team and I hope they will understand problem and make patch, update or even include in rights management control fields STATE and STATUS as equal. Simples way is to make modify of table GPU_Element_Configuration.FIC and in older GPU files modify field STATUS into STATE and everything will be fine.

If the use "Custom Groupware" option still exists in the current Windev version, you should be able to to continue to use the GPW option by ticking the "Mode compatible with Version 17 or earlier"

No, I'm not using Custom Groupware, but the original GPU from PC SOFT, with manual start option. I want to get new options, themes,...
When I upgrade my project, I want to upgrade Groupware as well.

But that seems to be just another marketing move for them. It mostly doesn't work for the first 11 months.

I don't see why PC SOFT changes the names of the fields in the GPU tables because there are no new fields, no new ideas and solutions, no new possibilities. PC SOFT developers need to realize that they are causing us huge problems when they change the field names without the ability to change the GPU structure.
But, if you send them a problem, many answers are: "No, we don't have that problem. It's like I'm making changes myself in their closed product. I apologize for this extensive writing, but I'm a little annoyed by this: In the new version, everything is fixed, when even what worked before doesn't work there. When product is in final version it is time for 2026. SLAP again !
