WX 2025 and WinOptimize

Hi everyone,

We upgraded our environment to WX 2025. New features brochure addresses some features related to windows GDI handling and using of direct 2D which should speed up end users experience and solve the limit of GDI object imposed by windows for complex screens. This was primary reason for us to update to new version. It states:

"The end of GDI handle creation: Windows resources saved
Another major new feature of version 2025 in the graphics engine is the possibility of no longer using handles for field control management.
The greater the number of fields, the greater the gain when the window is opened.
Another advantage of this new feature is that the absence of handles frees up Windows resources.
Use of this technology is optional: calling the WLanguage function Handle is still possible, of course."

However after installing new version and looking into docs I found out the following for WinOptimize function which should be handling this.

"woDirect2D - Optimized mode: Windows use Direct 2D at runtime. In this case, the graphics card draws the window and its controls.
This mode is not available in this version.."

"woWithoutHandle - Optimized mode: In this mode, the processor is responsible for displaying the windows and their controls. A single handle is created for the window and its controls. This constant eliminates the limitation related to the number of handles.
Caution: This mode is not compatible with certain WLanguage functions, such as Handle."

Basically, direct 2D is not working yet and woWithoutHandle is not compatible with Handle function which is directly opposite to what new features is claiming.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Alex

That new function is just not finished yet, which is very usual with the alpha version circulating at this time of the year...

Trying to use new functionalities before MAY is generally a bad idea

Hello everyone.
Argus. What is the benefit after 31.5. if no one uses it before and sends bugs, it is necessary to fix the bugs and polish the version a bit.
We know that each new version produces as many bugs as we found in the previous version. It is a never finished and never polished product.
So we're in a "must use unfinished" situation for them to get it right, I hope.
