Send gMail without authentication

Send gMail without authentication
November 18, 2024 06:36PM
I posted this on an old topic. So I repeat the question.

We allow schools to send email notices from our meals program. Normal SMTP emails work fine unless the school is using gMail. I am trying to fix this and cannot get gmail to work under any example I can find in the help. I don't want to use authentication as it does not need security. And I don't want the school to have to get a client ID, etc.

Can anyone share code to send gmail unsecured or have any suggestions?

AFAIK, gmail does NOT allow sending email without authentication anymore... You can make it easy for the user by managgin the token in your software though... So there will be :
- setting of the email
- oauth2 query (once)
- storing of the token
- then sending the emails using the sored token (many)

I get this is about gemail but I wanted to share this with you anyway.Maybe tell your client using free email for business is not sutch a good Idea

I use webreus for my email
site ==> [www.webreus.nl]

and they are very good and Cheap. You can make as many email adresses etc at no extra cost and the yearly cost is 18 euro per year ( that is incl webhosting ). So why not sell your customer email for 1 euro? They allow sending email from other domains as well >I use them for email only .I could manage email my self since I have two servers runnning on witch I could run email as well .But why ?

I have no interest in the company apart from me being a clinet there for email smiling smiley

The clients we serve are small schools sending notices to parents. So they use gmail.

If you log in to the gmail account under settings you can create a password for 3rd party apps. You then can use smtp with the password to send emails. I believe it is under security. You may have to do a google search to see how to do it.

It is also not in English.
