Windev HTML Edit Control and Windows prior to Win 10

Hi everyone,

We recently upgraded to Windev 2024 and ported one of our large apps without serious issues. Until this version we had edit control with type "HTML" for editing of text in HTML format (creating emails mostly). In version 2024 this setting is no longer supported and such text edit fields no longer work properly (no scrolbar etc). We updated all our windows to the new HTML Editor control and it works as expected. However, our users who use version of Windows prior to Window 10 are getting the error message:

Windows version not supported.
wd290web64.dll requires Windows 10 or later.

Is there any workaround for users using earlier versions of Windows? Some of them do not feel happy about potential Windows upgrade.

Hello Alex,

This is a situation outside your control and is not your responsibility to fix for your clients who stay with earlier unsupported Windows versions.
The solution seems simple to me, keep those clients on the pre-Windev 2024 version of your software.

Thanks for your response. I guess that the only logical thing is to tell the customers that even MS is not supporting Win7 and Win 8 anymore.
