Hi,

there is a customer whose HFSQL C/S file system is ok, just a single record of a single file is permanently locked.

HLockInfo tells us, it's been locked by a user who left the institution some weeks ago.

HUnlockRecNum() of the record doesn't work

Re-indexing the file works but repairing it doesn't work because it says: record locked!

We cannot shut down the database and restart it - it's a hospital with about 100 screens always connected by day and night and we'd have to insert a maintanence window which is not seen as a favourite solution. We don't know whether that would help anyway.

Any suggestions for solving that riddle? Thanks in advance!

Hi Guenter,

take a look at the HFSQL control center - you can FREE records from here ...
But in some versions, this did NOT work and I had to restart the SERVER [not only HFSQL].

Using the Control Center did not help - it told us "Record locked"

So we will restart the Server next Monday, not the ideal way to make the customer happy. However, it has to be done that way ..
