Android app getting removed from App Store

Hello,

This is really strange. All the Android apps compiled in WM20are removed by google. The reason given is:
Quote

Issue: Violation of Usage of Android Advertising ID policy and section 4.8 of the Developer Distribution Agreement

Google Play requires developers to provide a valid privacy policy when the app requests or handles sensitive user or device information. We’ve identified that your app collects and transmits the Android advertising identifier, which is subject to a privacy policy requirement. If your app collects the Android advertising ID, you must provide a valid privacy policy in both the designated field in the Play Console, and from within the app.

What must be the problem and what to do solve this.

BTW I got a friend to compile the old app in WM23 and resubmitted that same but even this was rejected/removed under the same clause.

The fact is that we are not using Advertising ID anywhere.

TIA

Hi Yogi,

you may not use an "Advertisng ID" directly in your app, but some libraries do (probably linked in your app)
take a look here:

Thanks for the reply.
But actually I have not touched the manifest file. Does WM add anything in the manifest file that has refers to Advertising ID?

TIA

Hello Yogi

One solution would be to go into the developer section of Google and add in a privacy document and presumably a link to it from the app. You should be able to pick up a document somewhere on the web.

That would solve the imediate issue of getting the app back into the store and give you time to sort out the real issue of what it is in your app that is triggering the privacy ID request

Thanks I will try the Privacy Policy document thing immediately.
