[WM] - APK installation fails on some phones why?

Hello,

I have developed an it is working properly.

But recently we are getting reports that the APK cannot be installed .

It fails with the message which is attached to this post.

Why does this happen and how to solve it?

Hi,

is this the case when your app is still running or active in the background. Try to close the app fist and do an install then to see if that helps.

I had the same issue caused by inproperly opening/closing windows, causing some kind of dead loop. (closing one window and opening the parent again…). After solving this the installer process could 'close' my app the right way and installing a new version worked again.

Thanks you for the tip. I have already tried that out. I even switched off the phone and did a cold boot.

But still the problem persisted.

Then I regenerated the .jks file at the time of compiling and the software got installed without a hitch!
