sql server (MSSQL ) loosing connection

Has anyone a way to atomatically reconnect after loosing connection I have seen hreconnect() but this does not seem to do anything with mssql native acces

The first problem is . How do I detect that it has lost connection ? It might be a stupit question but it is a real problem for me. I work with the native connector for MSSQL.

The problem in more detail:

1 Howe do I know the connection is lost ?
2 Then reconnect. Declaring the connection. Then H open connection.
3 They would like to return to the position in the screen where they were when the connection failed.

Anyone an Idea how to do this. Starting with the detection of the connection loss ?
