Random GPF Error WD22 / MySQL native access
October 15, 2018 05:08PM
After changing an application from HF/CS to MySQL I was struggeling with some random GPF Errors.
It is solved now, and here the solution if someone has the same issued:
The app crashed randomly when saving a record.
The window where this happened had some text fields linked to a query and a table control linked to another query.
When saving the records the application sometime crashed with the error message “application has stopped working, window is trying to find a solution”.
The windows log showed two different entries:
Most the time:
Fehlerbucket , Typ 0
Ereignisname: Crash PCS EXE
Antwort: Nicht verfügbar
CAB-Datei-ID: 0

Problemsignatur:
P1:
P2:
P3:
P4:
P5:
P6:
P7:
P8:
P9:
P10:

Sometimes:
Fehlerbucket , Typ 0
Ereignisname: AppHangB1
Antwort: Nicht verfügbar
CAB-Datei-ID: 0

Problemsignatur:
P1: TruckFox.exe
P2: 22.9.2.0
P3: 5965eda9
P4: 393e
P5: 0
P6:
P7:
P8:
P9:
P10:

What was the reason:
If the user enters a value in the first column of the table and clicks on the sort button of the table header my mistake the application crashes when doing a tablesave().
Solution was to disable the sort function on the table control, and no more app crashes.
This did not happen HF/CS. Maybe the same with other native acceses ?
Hope this post may help someone it took me weeks to find the solution.

Best Regards

Stefan.
