WM23 Android obfuscation

Hello, has anyone managed to get WM23 to work with obfuscation or string encryption on Android? It's a new WM23 option, but it only returns errors, even with a simple 1 window empty application.

If it is necessary to make any configuration for that process, where is it done?

Thank you

Rubén

Problem solved with the help of PCSoft. I was using Gradle 3.5.1 to
speed up the generation process and the system used should only be
compatible with the Gradle 2.14.1 they are using.

I hope we will soon be able to use more recent versions, as the
generation time difference is abysmal.

Hi Ruben,

I'd like to know if you ind the obfuscation solution usefull with WM23?

That was the man reason I did not upload any App to the google store before.

Thank you.

Hi. It really works very well. Unlike other products, it encrypts all of the app's character strings, both global and local variables. Other products like B4A for example only obfuscate the global variables in each window. I think the combination of string encryption and obfuscation with Proguard gives a high level of security (finally) to our applications.

Hi Ruben,

if you have the time to write it, it would be a great resource for everybody to have a 'how to' combine the WM23 obfuscation and the Proguard optimization... I'm sure that there are options and settings and a few NO-NOs...

Hi, Fabrice. I refer to the 2 options included in WM23 for the generation of applications:

1) String Encryption
2) Application code obfuscation.

Logically I understand that both processes are performed by the IDE with the help of Proguard, which is included as standard in the Android SDK.

Greetings

Ruben

Thanks Ruben for your answer. It seems good news then.
