HF ClientServer 12 with Linux Debian Etch

Hello to all
and best wishes for the new year.

I've reinstalled my Debian 3.1 with Debian 4.0 Etch
Now I want to use the Hyperfile Client/Server 12.

After install of libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2 for the MantaManager it is now
running. I've checked it with ps ax | grep manta and the MantaManager
appears in the process-list. In the HyperFile Control Center 12 the server
appears in the list of available Server. I've made a rescan to find all
servers. But when I try to connect to the server I get the following message:
Error communicating with server
Check the server status
I've had also set the windows-firewall to allow HyperFile Control Center.


With the Debian 3.1 and HyperFile C/S 10 I had no problems.

Hello to all,

I played a little bit around with MantaManager and so on.

My HF-Server is call GfJ so the start and stop is done with /etc/init.d/HFCS.GfJ

By using the option 'status' the anser is
HFCS-GfJ is dead but pid file exist

The same option with the /etc/init.d/MantaManager shows up with
MantaManager (pid 4120) is runnung...

So it seems that some lib-files are missing.
Wich one?

Searching around PC-Soft site about info's but can't find some.

It dosn't work either.

same on Ubuntu 8.10, sorry no solution: .(

In my opinion HF/CS and AppServer should be a first class citizens on server side Linux .


I vote for rpm, deb packages. !

A short info from PCSoft:
I've got a message from the tech-support of PCSoft and they said,
that HF CS 12 don't work with Debian Etch.
So I tried to install the HF CS 14 mon my server with the same result.

Does anybody else have a solution or a hint?

HyperFile Client/Server for Linux works immediately.

Hi,

Now I got it to work.
PCSoft helped me to install the HFCS 14 for Linux on my Debian Etch.
PCSoft are planing to release a new version of the HFCS 14 for Linux in
a few days.
