File Relation between different Databases

In an Analysis schema, there are some HFCS files, linked with some type of Relation (e.g. 0,n-> 0,1) between them.
These relations are operational for files that belong to different Databases ?
Can they accessed normaly ?

You can access files in different db's but i don't think you can enforce links between them (just guessing the links part I never tried).

to use different db's check hdescribeconnection/hopenconnection/hchangeconnection in the help.
