1)how to detect mouse left or right click on a table column and return the value in this column ?

2)Is there way to simulate CTRL+C on a table columm (not using the AAF menu option for table)?

windev mobile camera (1 reply)

Hello,
I have been tesing this windev mobile 2025 app on pcsofts IDE.
I have a camera control on a mobile window - and although it didn't function on the emulator - the window opened fine and it just showed a empty rectangle. Of course it worked fine on an android phone.

Suddenly, without doing anything, when I go now in a mobile screen, in the pcsoft emulator, it exits the app !!!
This happens with all examples that have the camera control ...
Any Ideas?

Browser page closes by itself after a few seconds (previously was working) (2 replies)

Hi,

My page closes by itself after a few seconds when it is opened. Can't seem to find the reason why. This is a previously working app. The current version is in production. I only realized this when I tried to update it with new features. The trace log is the attached screenshot.

Any help would be much appreciated.

[WB27] problem running the project in debug (4 replies)

We can't run any project in debug using chrome o edge, if we use firefox it works.

This is happening with the latest version of chrome and edge.

When we try to run the projects in debug wecann see the first page bug the session ends without any visible error.

Hi,

Does anyone have experience with MARS and SQL Server when using native client in your Windev/Webdev application? Which connection string text should be used to force MARS usage on a connection? I have weird error message popping up on some of our clients workstations

"cannot create new connection because in manual or distributed transaction mode"

and it happens on simple HReadSeekFirst while transaction is active. The weird thing is that it happens on some workstations only. I would like to try to solve it with MARS.

[WB 2024] Pipe error in testmode (no replies)

Hi,

I have a problem when testing a dynamic site.
When I test a single page it comes up normally in the browser, but if from that page another page is called or a PageDisplayDialog then the webdev engine has a fatal error. The page shows up briefly, but then this error:

The WEBDEV application server encountered an abnormal internal status.
Internal code of error: CSCA256

An internal error has occurred.

Possible causes:
- General protection fault.
- Web server, application server, or application configuration error.
- Rights error (e.g. the user running the application is the wrong one or does not have sufficient rights).
- Error encountered when loading the application.
- In IIS, the guest user specified in for the website "Authentication" is different from the user specified in "Handler mappings".

If I run the project there's no problem, except that I have to login and pick a menu option to run the page.
This is a real nuisance
I reported this to PCSoft Tech Support, but they said it was due to a change in Chrome and it will be fixed in future versions (of course:X)
As I don't intend to enter into the SAAS thing, I wonder if anyone had the same issue and found a worakaound or a hack?

Hello All,

I have received some interesting information about the PCSoft Security Key offer.

"PC SOFT will introduce a "Security Key" solution that uses your current dongle and is associated with an annual subscription."

I am not sure if this refers to a current subscription type dongle or the conversion of an existing "use forever" dongle.

I would never trust PCSoft to load any code into my existing "use forever" dongles to convert them from "use forever" to "use while you pay"

The video on the French site mentions converting dongles so still not clear.

For me it is academic as I have no intention of ever going to the subscription model.

I tried several AI generators with different results. I decided to stick with versions (24), bexause ithey fill my needs.
Does anyone has experience with this and is the best generator to use with both versions of the PCSoft product.

I know that the versions of Windev 2026 I believe has built in AI, but for me it's not worth the investment considering
the new pricing.

Unfortunately, I have now forgotten the password, and I no longer have the original backup file. I know a lot of us are looking at various options for the "escape from WD/WB". Would be great if we could share our successes, hopefuls and dead ends. Let's share and help each other out. Many of us have been on the various WD forums for about 20 years, so I know we're not spring chickens. The learning curve for a new platform is killing, and a little guidance will go a long way in helping us avoid the hype and concentrate on the probable options.

Hi All

I have a large database of PDF and XLS files. Currently users can go and download files as they need. I was wondering if there was a way to build an AI front-end to that so they could ask questions of the AI which would then process the database of PDF/XLS files and return something useful.

So my question is; does anyone have some experience with adding an AI front-end aspect to a WebDev website? If yes, would you mind sharing some suggestions?

I have a large medical practice management app in the UK built with WebDev. I run a Windows AWS server and a postgreSQL database. It runs extremely well. I have seen up to 300 concurrent connections on the server. The server has 32GB RAM and at peak is using about 60% memory and generally less than 30% CPU.

Does anyone have experience of large deployments like this in WebDev. I think my current growth will enable me to run for another year before I start hitting close to 90% memory at peak. I can then double the server RAM if needed. Is this a good idea? It's certainly a simple solution but I'm sure setting up a second server is a better idea.

I would welcome thoughts.

But I cannot get this going again, no changes have been made, only the upgrade to 2026??

Hi All

Using WebDev 2025.

I want to create an Excel file on the server and populate it with some data. Then return it to the user's browser. I am not clear on how to do this because I cannot see a function for writing data into specific cells of the Excel file. I see there is a function to open an Excel file XLSOpen() and a function to read data from a cell XLSData(), but what function is used to send data to specific cells?

Or are there better ways to create an XLS file and put data into it?

WD Version 25 Print Selection from a text memo (7 replies)

Hello All,

Many years ago, I wrote a simple job card program for a plumber friend. The app was in DOS Foxpro and I have just managed to get him off that program - now running in DosBox - and into Windev due mainly to the fact that his old parallel printer finally died and the old DOS Foxpro program cannot print to USB printers.

So, enough history, the problem I have is that the memo field where details of work performed was recorded has, in some cases, a hundred of more lines of text - lines are added at each visit to the job site - and he doesn't want to print all that out every time a job card is printed. He only wants the last 20 or so lines. Foxpro had a really handy feature to do just that but I can't figure out how to just extract a set number of text lines from the bottom of a Windev text memo and print them in a text block on a report. The text doesn't have many carriage returns as the original data was just typed in and was automatically wrapped as it was entered.

I have been checking out the Windev string functions but there doesn't seem to be any way to do what I need. An alternative, that I also can't figure out how to do, might be to display all the text onscreen before reporting and ask the user to select a block of text to be printed.
